Cosmetic and Permanent Gold Shells for Natural Teeth

Each custom-made gold shell crown is hand crafted according to the doctor's work authorization slip. Each case is handled in three phases.

Phase I
At Starlight, we take pride in the quality of our workmanship. We start with either an impression or model of the patient's teeth supplied by the doctor or laboratory. We pour models at no additional charge.

Phase II
Each case is handled individually with attention to areas that may pose a problem to seating the crown. These areas are adjusted or blocked out before the duplication process, which produces a working die. Each die is ditched to give proper length, and relieved with a die spacer to give room for cementation.

Phase III
The completed restoration is then polished to a high-luster finish and returned ready for insertion.

Cosmetic gold shell crowns are those which are attached to a natural tooth that has been slightly reduced to give clearance for the shell crown. These crowns may be removed without major trauma to the tooth.

Permanent gold shell crowns are for those teeth with major reduction which if removed would cause trauma to the tooth.
